BASILIQUE-CATHÉDRALE NOTRE-DAME DE QUÉBEC

This basilica is located but a few minutes walk from the Manoir d’Auteuil.  This is truly an architectural treasure, with the neoclassical façade, asymmetrical tower, stained glass, gilded gold and three Casavant organs to list a few.  This church served as the continent’s first Catholic parish north of Mexico.

It is also the site of the first and only Holy Door in the Americas.  Masses are performed regularly as well as a very special Christmas mass at midnight on December 24th.  Regardless of your faith, this building and the holy door are a must see as you experience the history of Old Quebec.
